-
Discussion of Shenandoah 1200K
General discussion was held about volunteer and logistics for this event including updates to Website.
-
Discussion about RUSA Medals
Texas RBA Dan Driscoll asked about the possibility of doing RUSA 200K medals. Don Hamilton suggested a post to the RBA list for feedback. The board agreed to take this approach and Wise and Thomas agreed to work on an online survey.
-
RUSA Store / RUSA Medal Store
Jim Kuehn told the board he'd implemented the online store for medals and populaire pins about 1 month prior to the meeting but said no online money transaction were yet taking place. An item was to be prepared for the May newsletter about the change. There was also discussion about limiting the number of newsletter pages devoted to the RUSA store once members began the switch to online ordering.
-
PBP Survey Discussion
Thomas noted that RUSA's online PBP survey went out for analysis to members Lynn Clark in Ohio and Jan Heine and Mark Vande Kamp in Washington. Heine and Vande Kamp said they would look specifically at whether anything could be gleaned from a cross analysis with a similar Bicycle Quarterly survey. The plan was to have at least one article ready for publication in the May newsletter.
-
RUSA Insurance Discussion
Susan France said a new flagging system in the database now alerted her to RBAs who had not sent in a certificate of insurance.
-
Website Discussion
Thomas led discussion about Website volunteers to help out with content. Kuehn said the Website committee could meet to discuss this.
-
10th Anniversary Medal Discussion
Jennifer Wise said 200 10th Anniversary medals were on hand to fill pre-orders from RBAs. She said the price of medals was $6.00 each. Medals were to be available to members who ride events, either RUSA or ACP, on the Aug. 16-17 anniversary weekend.
-
RUSA PBP Packets
Thomas noted that PBP 07 packets were still trickling in and as many as 45 members had reported receiving packets where the medal or PBP brevet booklet was missing because of a torn or unsealed envelope. An email list was settled on as the easiest way to contact members.
