The RUSA Board met for the purpose of electing officers, although the issue of RBA reimbursements was also discussed.

  1. Officer Elections. By unanimous vote Lois Springsteen was elected President; Mike Dayton was elected Vice-President; Eric Vigoren was elected Treasurer and Edward Robinson was elected Secretary.
  2. October 2008 Board Meeting Minutes. Don Hamilton moved to approve the meeting minutes from the October 20, 2008 meeting, and Lois seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous in favor of approval.
  3. Email votes. Email votes were approved by unanimous vote, with Don Hamilton moving to approve and Jennifer Wise seconding the motion. The events approved by the board were for TX, PA, PR and NM
  4. RBA reimbursements. Substantive discussion for the board meeting focused on RBA reimbursements. The question was raised as to whether to continue to provide a cost-sharing RBA reimbursement at the rate of $0.50 per RUSA point accrued between 1/1 and 10/31, and whether to include 1200K events in the reimbursement plan. The board noted there was no negative feedback on the amounts, and that the organization had the funds to pay reimbursements at the current levels. The board agreed to keep the 1200Ks as part of the reimbursement program and to better publicize the reimbursement program to get broader participation by eligible RBAs.
