HIGHLIGHTS FROM A REGULAR MEETING

OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF

RANDONNEURS USA, INC.

Held OCTOBER 6, 2016

A regular meeting of the RUSA Board of Directors was convened by telephone conference. In attendance at the meeting were John Lee Ellis, Lynne Fitzsimmons, Rob Hawks, Spencer Klaassen, Susan Otcenas, and Mark Thomas. Debra Banks was absent. No others were present.

At that meeting, the Board:

• Discussed and approved the 2017 ACP brevet calendar. Included in the discussion were issues related to regions that did not hold events in 2016, did not submit events for 2017, or submitted only RUSA-sanctioned events for 2017. After discussion, it was decided that the RBA-L would reach out to those regions, as appropriate, regarding brevet scheduling. Also discussed was whether a Region could offer multiple 1200Ks in one year and it was determined that this would continue to be permitted.

• Discussed the policy and issues involving the calendaring of the flèche. The flèche can be held starting on Thursday at noon, but the record date for event-calendaring purposes should be Friday. Regions that submitted 2017 flèches showing a starting day other than Friday were calendared and submitted to the ACP with Friday start dates.

• Discussed the status of mailing ACP stickers for 2016 events to the RBAs.

• Approved the August and September Minutes and the July and August Board meeting highlights.

• Received a report on September financials.

• Discussed the on-going Board member election voting process, specifically that the receipt and tallying of votes is managed by a Board member who is not seeking reelection.

• Discussed new award proposals and referred the same to the Awards Committee for further work on the proposal.

• Scheduled the next Regular Meeting for November 2, 2016, at 5:00 P.M., PDT.
