Randonneur 10000

Randonneur 10000 Medal Fifty years after the creation of the RANDONNEUR 5000 award, the Audax Club Parisien created the Randonneur 10000 award to recognize finishing ACP and Randonneurs Mondiaux events totaling at least 10000km within a six-year period. To qualify for this award, the randonneur must complete:

  • two full series of ACP brevets (200, 300, 400, 600, and 1000km) [longer brevets cannot be substituted for shorter ones];
  • a Paris-Brest-Paris randonnée;
  • another 1200km randonnée homologated by Les Randonneurs Mondiaux;
  • a Flèche Vélocio, or other ACP-sanctioned flèche (your team of at least three bicycles must finish officially);
  • an additional ACP 600 km brevet (beyond those in the two full series), including at least 8,000 m (26,247 ft.) of climbing, as measured using the OpenRunner routing tool; *
  • additional ACP and/or RM events - and optionally a Super Randonnée 600 homologated by 10/31/2022 * - to bring the total distance up to at least 10000 km.

* The ACP has expressed that a Super Randonnée 600 permanent, ridden in the Randonneur division and homologated by 10/31/2022, can be used either in lieu of the 600k with 8000m of climbing, or as supplementary distance to reach 10000 km.

Some additional French events can also be used as qualifying rides.

The events used to apply for the Randonneur 5000 can be used to apply for the Randonneur 10000.

The qualifying events must be completed within a six-year period, beginning on the date of the first qualifying event, except that the ACP has extended the deadline two years for those who are counting PBP'19 towards the award.

Date ranges for Randonneur 10000 awards may overlap, but a given ride or event can only be used for one Randonneur 10000 award. For example, rides spanning the period July, 2014 through January, 2020 (using PBP'15) could qualify for one R-10000 award, while a second series, from January, 2016 through August, 2020 (using PBP'19) could be used for a second.

Application process and period: Apply online by October 15.

Applications must include the homologation numbers for each qualifying ride. If you are depending on a late-season event to complete your award qualification and result processing by ACP or RM is delayed, your application may need to be held over until the following year.

The Randonneur 10000 award is an ACP award. RUSA acts as intermediary for handling applications.

After the application period has closed, RUSA batches up the applications submitted and sends these to the ACP. This is done just once per year, so missing the application deadline will delay your award until at least the following year. Awards are processed by ACP at the end of the calendar year and are received and distributed to awardees in the first quarter of the following year.
